How to prevent videos from opening in full screen
Updated 2 months ago
The Open player setting in your widget editor controls what happens when a visitor clicks a video. To stop videos from opening the full screen player and keep them playing inside the carousel, set Open player to None.
Change the Open player setting
Open your widget in the editor.
Find the Open player setting.
Select None to keep videos playing in the carousel without opening any player. Choose Floating if you still want a player to open, just not in full screen.
Save your changes.
All Open player options
Fullscreen — the full screen player opens when a visitor clicks a video. This is the default.
Floating — a floating player opens on top of the page instead of full screen.
None — no player opens. Videos stay in the carousel.
Floating on desktop, fullscreen on mobile — floating player on desktop, full screen on mobile.
This setting controls what happens when someone clicks a video. It's separate from autoplay, which controls whether videos start playing on their own. For that, see how to change video autoplay and layout in the carousel.
The same Open player setting is available in the grid and floating widget editors, not just the carousel. For global player behavior across all widgets.
