Show captions on videos in fullscreen
Updated 2 weeks ago
Show a caption on your videos when a shopper opens one in fullscreen. Write the caption on the media first, then turn on Show media captions in the Player section of the widget editor. Captions are a Pro feature.
On the Free plan you can write captions and preview the setting in the editor, but your changes are not saved until you upgrade to Pro or start a free 14-day trial.
Write the caption on your media
Every video in your media library has its own caption. You write it once here, and any widget can show it.
In the Moast dashboard, open Media.
Click the video you want to caption.
Find the Caption field at the bottom and write your caption. You can use rich text formatting, like bold or italics, and add links.
Save your changes.
If your video came from Instagram or TikTok, its original caption is imported automatically. You can replace it with your own text at any time.
Turn on captions in the widget editor
One setting controls captions in fullscreen. When it is on, shoppers see the caption on every video they open in the player.
In the Moast dashboard, open the widget you want to change.
In the Player section, turn on Show media captions.
Click Save.
Shoppers now see the caption when they open a video in fullscreen.
If you don't see Show media captions, your widget is set not to open videos.
In the Player section, set Open player to Fullscreen, Floating, or Floating on desktop, fullscreen on mobile instead of None. The caption setting only appears when the widget opens a video when clicked.
Good to know
Show media captions controls captions inside the fullscreen player only. To show captions under slides or videos in the widget itself, use the caption setting for that widget type. For the Carousel, see Add captions to carousel slides.
You can also make parts of a caption clickable, like a creator profile or a product page. See How to add links to captions.
